In 1972, the Adcock brothers—Robert “Bob” Adcock, Michael “Scott” Adcock, Thomas “Rusty” Adcock, and David Adcock—founded Adcock Brothers Inc. in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with guidance and inspiration from their father, Oreon “Odie” Adcock. While the brothers initially pursued careers in auctioneering like their father, Bob Adcock remained true to his passion for the wholesale automotive business. By 1979, Bob had acquired full ownership and began leading the company toward a future of steady growth and innovation.
Adcock Bros. began as a small wholesale operation and quickly became a regular consignor at Manheim Auto Auction, the world’s largest auto auction. As their presence at auction grew, so did the company. Increased demand led to a relocation to a larger facility in Manheim, Pennsylvania, where the company expanded both its footprint and its range of services.
Over the past five decades, Adcock Bros. has evolved into a full-service automotive operation, offering a comprehensive range of solutions across the industry, including:
-
Wholesale & Retail Vehicle Buying and Selling
-
Automotive Brokering Services
-
Vehicle Remarketing
-
Adcock Auto Transport – Regional and long-haul transport solutions
-
Adcock Management Services – Operational and logistical support
-
AAA Recon – Full-service vehicle reconditioning
-
Adcock Paint & Body Shop – High-quality body repair and paint services
-
Truck Service Center – Dedicated facility for truck maintenance and service
In 2008, Adcock Bros. moved into its current 9-acre campus at 14 Anthony Drive, directly across from Manheim Auto Auction. This 20,000-square-foot facility houses state-of-the-art offices, service centers, and two exclusive auction lanes, supporting the buying and selling of 500–700 vehicles each week—earning Adcock Bros. a reputation as one of the largest independent automotive dealerships in the world.
In 2014, we continued our growth by opening a dedicated Truck Service Center and consolidating operations for Adcock Northeast Auto Transport into a modern, multi-story office space.
Today, Adcock Bros. remains a family-owned and operated company, proudly employing members of the third Adcock generation and nearly 100 dedicated staff. Our long-standing success is built on the values of honesty, service, and commitment to exceeding expectations—principles that continue to guide us as we look to the future.
We’re proud of our past and excited for what’s ahead—and we look forward to serving you every step of the way.
