1972: The Vision Begins

In the heart of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, four ambitious brothers embarked on a journey that would redefine the automotive wholesale industry.

Robert "Bob" Adcock, Michael "Scott" Adcock, Thomas "Rusty" Adcock, and David Adcock, guided by their father Oreon "Odie" Adcock's auctioneering wisdom, founded Adcock Brothers Inc. as a modest vehicle wholesale operation. While the brothers initially explored auctioneering, Bob's passion for the wholesale automotive trade kept him committed to building the business.

By late 1979, Bob's determination earned him full ownership, planting the seeds for decades of innovation in vehicle remarketing, auto transport services, and comprehensive automotive supply chain solutions.

Late 1970s - Early Growth

From humble Lancaster beginnings, Adcock Brothers discovered their true calling at the epicenter of automotive wholesale.

Downtown Lancaster
Small Operation Start

Operating from a modest downtown Lancaster base, Adcock Brothers became regular participants at regional auctions. Their breakthrough came at Manheim Auto Auction—the world's largest auto auction and heart of the wholesale vehicle market.

Consistent quality and growing consignment volumes over six years necessitated expansion, leading to relocation to a larger Manheim facility that positioned them at the industry's epicenter and sparked diversification into the Adcock family of companies.

1980s-2000s: Diversification

Building an Integrated Automotive System

The expanded Manheim facility became a launchpad for innovation. Recognizing gaps in the automotive supply chain, Adcock Brothers developed complementary services that evolved into industry-leading companies:

AAA Auto Recon

Adcock Paint & Body Shop

Premium collision repair – Flawless vehicle restoration

For three decades, these companies earned trusted reputations, processing hundreds of vehicles weekly and establishing Adcock Brothers as one of the world's largest independent automotive dealerships with comprehensive vehicle wholesale solutions.
