Job Overview:
As a Paint Prepper, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for the painting process by performing various tasks such as sanding, masking, and priming. The ideal candidate will have experience with power tools, mechanical knowledge, and auto restoration.

Responsibilities:

  • Wash vehicles to remove dirt, oil, grease, and debris from painted surfaces.
  • Locate and remove imperfections on panels prior to painting. Treat scratched and chipped areas with plastic or liquid filler.
  • Apply paper and masking tape to protect unpainted surfaces, such as bumpers, windows, chrome trim, and other parts while surrounding areas are spray-painted.
  • Tape the car up using tape, paper, and plastic bags so we only paint the parts of the car we intend to paint.
  • Smooth unmasked surfaces with sandpaper removing gloss from previous coats of paint. Sand rough spots.
  • After the vehicle is painted, remove masking tape, and clean the vehicle. Move the vehicle to a designated area for buffing.

Qualifications:

3 years of collision repair experience but we will consider graduates from respected automotive collision programs as well.

Selected candidate must be able to perform all job functions that require bending, standing, lifting, and reaching

Salary: From $15.00 per hour
